📥 Installation

The SkyCaster Rendering Client is a desktop application that renders your map configurations from the Skycaster dashboard into broadcast video. It renders with a bundled headless browser and encodes with FFmpeg (also bundled). Output goes to an MP4 file, or live to SDI and HDMI through a Blackmagic DeckLink card when you run it from the app window.

FFmpeg is bundled — you do not need to install FFmpeg separately.

🖥️ Installing the App

Download the installer for your platform from downloads.skycaster.tv :

• macOS (Apple Silicon) — .dmg
• macOS (Intel) — .dmg
• Windows (64-bit) — .exe installer

The app updates itself once installed. You need an active Skycaster subscription and an API key to render.

After installation, a skycaster command is available in your terminal:

• macOS: /usr/local/bin/skycaster
• Windows: skycaster.cmd in the install folder, which the installer adds to your PATH

Verify the installation:

skycaster --help
